Batam. Never understood why Singaporeans go there.
So when my mom asked if I wanted to tag along for a site inspection there I jumped on the bandwagon and experienced first hand how it felt to be completely clueless about the place. From what I gathered people in Singapore go Batam for 2 reasons, first of which they get a second wife there, or just trying to bone. Secondly, young couples who'd just got together recently go there for some cheap fun, much like going to Genting or maybe Thailand, if you stayed further north up the country.

To start off, the Harbourfront jetty wasn't too shabby a place, but it is crowded. It was a bit of a mess because we're also going with another company. Sony-something or another, I don't recall.
After about 5-10 minutes of queuing and scuttling our way into the boat, we're well on our 1 and a half hour 's boat ride, chugging at the rate of a stabbed rat.

The transit from Singapore to Batam's port was tiring. There were no drinks and food allowed on board, seats were mostly taken up, and you can't seem to move around without a dozen or so eyeballs ogling at you. Maybe it was due to the fact that both me and mum had our glasses reversed, but that's besides the point. Qian wasn't feeling too good on the ride though. Seasick probably.
Thankfully, she found a pillow and a bolster. My shoulder and arms. Woop, win-win situation right there. Except when I was really mistaken as the company's photographer that I had to run around and take shots for that company. Meh. It was just a joke, people, get it through your heads ._.

Soon after about an hour's long bus ride with our guide, Octavia, we arrive at Holiday Inn. Reception wasn't too bad, we were greeted with a glasses of juice for everyone. I especially enjoyed the I-Think-It's-Pinapple juice that I took instead of the pink drink.

The resort itself looks alright , at least until you get into your room. But we'll talk about that later. The room looked alright, seeing that it's a 3-star resort and all.
There was this little, no, monstrous sized stain on the living room floor that probably dried blood from the previous stay, who were probably murderers. Mystery solved guys, pack up the mystery machine and let's head home.

There's plenty of  foliage everywhere. And some spots of the resort is littered with mossy ponds. Looks alright from far, looks disgusting up close.

The pool wasn't too crowded, and it was huge enough to accommodate everyone. The restaurant/cafe however there are just enough spots, but you'd be struggling to find a seat you desire. It's either the noisy group that's speaking in foreign languages or the smoker team.

The food is palatable, but I'd appreciate if there were more meat though.

Didn't get a chance to play in the bar or the game room. They have consoles there D:
Free to play as long as you get a drink or food in there.

There's a restaurant in Holiday Inn as well. Well, there SHOULD be one seeing that it's really out of reach from civilization.

There's this little pool and a man-made sand pit at the back of the restaurant. And it's also conveniently next to the spa center that's in the resort as well. Heard it's fantabulous, and, didn't get a chance to try it out.

That's all I have to talk about for now. It's probably been too long to remember most of the things I've done there anyway.

I feel like I'm losing control of the situation. I'm green eyed with rage. I'm angry that it deserves more attention than me. I'm angry that it acts like it owns you, taking all your time away from me. A fire burns deep within me so hot that I can't sleep at night. In my mind I've already thought up to about a billion ways I would kill it, and disembowel it, and eradicate it from the existence of this realm.

Alas, I'm powerless to even approach it. It takes so many forms I can't seem to ever find it. I have no leverage in anything I do now.

It has no mercy, no moral obligation to stop, it's only mission is to tear me down emotionally, and give me doubts.

I lose. Damn you heart.

The Whatchuwant Campaign

Celcom is back with a fantabulous campaign. Apparently you can get freebies by just signing up for the mobile packages that you like to use on a daily day-to-day basis. I'm THIS close to shifting over to them. More about this marvellous ongoing promo.

I have been searching for the perfect pair of slippers for quite some time now. There has yet a pair that was able to make the hair on my arse stand on edge if I should put it on.

Until now.

Fuck yeah picture montage!

The Laziz Restaurant, this is an arabic/middle east restaurant located at Jalan Solaris 5, shown at the map. One thing I have to talk about is the parking is quite scarce if you want to park close to the shop. The few times i've tried parking at Solaris, or Soho KL, ended up with my jamming my car into a spot which wasn't meant for a car.

Honda Civic 2012 just launched in Malaysia the 12th July.

Not sure if it lives up to it's name as Honda's line of road-affordable powerhouse cars.
Here's the commercial that Honda cranked out.

Karaoke, favorite pastime among teenagers and adults.
An event where we scream ourselves hoarse because for 3 hours, we get to pretend we're rockstars.

The perfect couple.... It's like beauty and the beast, except the beast is one sexy bastard.

Desserts, a meal is not complete without it, fruits, ice-cream, chocolate, cake, nuts*chuckle* you name it.
It's a part of a meal that i always look forward to whenever i'm out and about.

This time, I'm at a little dessert shop called Pick-me-up. It's an imaginatively named shop name.
Located strategically at a busy area in Kuchai Lama, it's bound to get popular in time.

How does this shop fare out? Continue reading.

Ah, technology. We''ve come so far since the dawn of time. We've come a long way since the day of rubbing sticks together and making fire exciting us in ways we can't even describe.
True story.

And now at this day and age, we're still constantly changing our standards, always raising the bar to see how far it goes. Time really passes. I still remember back in the days when having a TV seems to be the best thing ever to have happened.
My first seizure while watching the Pink Panther cartoon

At this current time, 3D technology seems to be catching on. 3D televisions, 3D cameras, and 3D movies. What was since something that seemed impossible is now all doable now.

The latest fad at the moment would be 3D phones. They seem to be selling out like hotcakes. I haven't generally have had my hands on with one, but I'd expect it to look something like this.
Totally impervious to the public. Nobody would notice those glasses.

But it isnt. LG's latest 3D Android-powered smartphone, the  LG Optimus 3D actually works without the use of 3D glasses.
LG Optimus 3D

It's a 168gm 4.3" beast. Powered by Dual core 1Ghz cortex A9 processor, it's a phone you don't mess with.

So it comes down to the question, what WOULD my world be with the LG optimus 3d?
I guess it'd be filled with 3d pictures and videos of my girlfriend, because i'd browse them and flip through them whenever i get lonely.

And the end result would be something like this

On a lighter side, it would be much more exciting to have a 3D gadget handy for when you have memorable moments you'd want to record down and view later, with a sense of nostalgia that would match photographic memory.

What can I say? I love my android gadgets. Especially my Samsung Galaxy note n7000.

This is my entry for the Digi Contest entry :]

Saturday 18 February 2012

Digi has tons of plans and phones available for the tech-hungry bunch. And among those phones offered, only Android phones ever catch my eyes. Android's latest iteration of their OS(Operating System) is the Ice-Cream Sandwich, the coolest of the bunch.
You know you want it. *hrnk*

I'm not going to go too much into detail, but a few of the key features of the new ICS is having a very minimalist, yet choc-ful of functions and gestures in their new UI, as well has having a verily awesome face unlock for the phone, very espionage-y.

Although it MIGHT sport some problems with some people.

And hot off the stove from the Digi Online Store is the Galaxy Nexus, first ever Android device to sport the Ice-Cream Sandwich OS on the phone. Just the thought of it makes me cream myself.

LOOK AT THAT, Oh GOD YES!

YEA, SHOW ME YOUR BACK, BABY!

135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm , oh god, that's just sexy.
and just weighing at 135g. I want it so badly. 16gb internal storage and 1gb ram, my jaw's still on the floor.  Rather than let my mouth do the talking, how about I show you a video. Beware, it's pure technological pornography.

And with the Digi Smart Plan, I'll be connected EVERYWHERE with my Android device(s).
Why, at the low, low monthly price starting at RM 43, I could have unlimited* connectivity with my gadgets. Price plan isn't too bad too. Surfing the net? Bring on the tsunami, Digi's Smart Plan can take on any packets you dish at it! Digi's Smart Plan supercharges the Androids like they're on steroids(try saying that 10 times in a row)

Don't be square, join the Digi Fandroid revolution!
